Plans for a new sushi venue in Inverness city centre are shaping up as new signs were recently installed.

Permission was formally granted yesterday by Highland Council to install storefront signs for Sushiness, who took over the former Bubble and Swirl premises on Lombard Street.

The new restaurant, which will operate as a takeaway and serve fresh and fried sushi rolls as well as gyosas is set to be the second sushi outlet in Inverness after the opening of Sushi Inverness in the Victorian Market last December.

To open the new sushi restaurant businessman Ignacio Reyes has taken up occupancy of the premises which formerly hosted the Bubble and Swirl coffee and dessert parlour, which closed in November last year.

The proposed opening hours according to the planning application will be 12pm to 10pm in summer and from 4pm to 10pm in winter.

This is the latest addition to the number of eateries that are opening in Inverness city centre.
