Inverness city centre looks set to get a second sushi outlet.

Plans have been submitted to Highland Council to install storefront signs for Sushiness at recently vacant 7-15 Lombard Street.

The move follows the December opening of the unrelated Japanese cuisine business Sushi Inverness in the Victorian Market by Aldona Fryc, Kamil Luczak and Barbara Danielewska.

Businessman Ignacio Reyes has taken up occupancy of the premises formerly occupied by the Bubble and Swirl coffee and dessert parlour which closed in November last year.

He is seeking planning permission to erect two business signs with the Sushiness logo outside the premises which neighbours the Oxfam charity store.

The application has a determination deadline of May 26.
