A BARGAIN store chain has opened a new branch in Inverness last weekend.

Poundland has relocated in new premises at Telford Retail Park on Saturday after the branch at Inverness Retail Park was closed earlier this year.

The retailer was been given permission to put up the new storefront in Carsegate Road last summer.

Kimberly Nicol, store manager, said: "It's amazing to be back in Inverness with our brand new store in Telford Retail park. It's great to be back and see so many familiar faces visit us on our first day.

"Our range has been increased and now we have our brand new chilled and frozen ranges in store with our extended PEP and Co clothing offer which is almost double the size of our last store.

"We have created new positions in store with the majority of our colleagues moving from the old store and are still hiring."
