New Inverness burger and pizza joint replaces Indian takeaway

A new Inverness burger and pizza takeaway is being established following the closure of a popular Indian food outlet.
Customers were surprised by the closure of Raj Tandoori last Sunday.
It is understood the move was taken for personal reasons.
However, a new venture called Shak's Pizza and Burgers has been launched in its place at Smithton Industrial Estate, near to Harry Gow bakery headquarters.
A spokesman for Shak's Pizza and Burgers stated on social media: "Dear valued customers of Raj Tandoori Inverness, we are excited to announce that we are embarking on a new journey with Shak's Pizza and Burgers. We understand that Raj Tandoori has been closed, but we hope to continue serving the Inverness community with the same dedication and passion for delicious food.
"We invite you to join us in this new adventure and support us as we strive to bring you the best quality pizzas and burgers in town. Thank you for your continued loyalty, and we can't wait to serve you!"
The news has been welcomed by Inverness Indian restaurant Mangrove, which took the opportunity to promote the fellow business on social media.
"The Raj Tandoori has been a household favourite across the city, feeding families of all walks of life for the past 25 years," a Mangrove spokesman said.
"As some of you may know, the Raj Tandoori will be closing down and reopening as Shak’s Pizza and Burgers. The rebranding has come about due to ill-health within the family that has come as a shock to all those who know them.
"So we would like to celebrate the business that was the Raj and share with you all this exciting new venture that their family is taking.
"So please go give their page a follow and show some love to what will be the best pizza and burger joint in town!"
