The new Post Office will be located in the Great Glen Pharmacy.

The Post Office in Drumnadrochit will move to its new home on January 25, the company has confirmed.

Under revised relocation dates published this week, the Post Office revealed that the current facility in the village will close on Monday, January 22 at midday, before reopening at its new home inside the Great Glen Pharmacy on Thursday, January 25 at 1pm.

The new dates are roughly a fortnight later than the original plan, which would've seen the existing site's branch shut on January 10, with the new branch originally expected to open on January 11.

During the short gap in-between the newly revised dates, people are being advised to use the Post Office in Kiltarlity, which is roughly 10 miles away.

Once the new Drumnadrochit Post Office opens on January 25 it will provide more than 45-hours of Post Office service each week and will be open six days out of seven.

The move will result in more than 10 hours of extra Post Office service than is provided in its present location, due in large part to later closing hours on weekdays,

The opening hours will be Monday to Friday from 9am to 5.30pm, and Saturdays from 9am to 1pm.

Drumnadrochit will be a new-style Post Office Local service with one Post Office serving point alongside the retail counter of the pharmacy.

David Duff, Post Office network provision manager, said: “We are pleased to find a permanent premises for Drumnadrochit Post Office and I look forward to its opening.”
