Highland Council officials are thankful to the public for their response to the opening of the food hall at the Victorian Market.

The venue opened in September following a £1.6 million renovation project by the local authority.

David Haas, Highland Council’s Inverness city area manager, said: “The refurbished Market Hall opened in September with three new businesses: Good Girl Grocer, Bad Girl Bakery and Moonshine.

“Salt N Fire opened at the beginning of November, bringing a whole new concept of vegan delights.

“We thank the public for their great response and support of the additional offerings the Victorian Market now offers.

“It came as a welcome surprise to some that we still very much welcome dogs in the market.

“Customers have given us some great constructive feedback, which we have listened to.

“We are constantly making improvements and indeed we are very proud of the way our city community and visitors have found the market to be a welcoming space for families and groups to socialise while enjoying great quality food.

“There will be further announcements of new businesses opening in our new venue soon.”

The project forms a centrepiece of the local authority’s Inverness Strategy.
