The head of a popular statue of Nessie in Inverness is set for repairs after the wooden feature suffered damages in late July.

The model at the Dores Road roundabout – a well-known landmark in the city – "lost its head" probably due to deterioration according to Highland Council officials.

Now, Holm Community Council have announced that the repairs to the popular feature are underway.

They posted on Facebook: "It’s never good to lose your head, especially on a Friday! Some might say to lose your neck as well is just careless!
