Mission to support children in Inverness this Christmas gets welcome boost
A mission to support children in Inverness this Christmas has received a welcome boost.
Inverness City Centre Business Improvement District (BID) launched a Christmas fundraiser to support the MFR Cash for Kids Mission Christmas.
Lauren MacInnes, charity fundraising executive for MFR Cash for Kids (North) said: “Working with Inverness City Centre BID is a fantastic and exciting new collaboration for us.
"Every penny raised will be used to make a difference including making sure that all children referred will have their very own special parcel to open on Christmas morning. Families can struggle for such a variety of reasons which makes the festive season a challenge for many and we believe that no child or young person should be left behind.
"Some of the referrals we receive are heart breaking and it cannot be underestimated the difference and the impact that your donation will bring. When you are suffering and times are tough it can make all the difference knowing that your local community cares. We thank each and every person who supports our campaign and we look forward to updating you in the coming weeks so you can be part of our journey.”
Lorraine Bremner McBride director of Inverness BID added: “We are delighted to announce our fundraising partnership with MFR Cash for Kids (North) this year to help with their Mission Christmas campaign.
"This is such a worthy cause which promotes local giving and helps us all make a difference to the lives of local children and young people who may be facing very challenging circumstances. Community spirit and festive spirit go hand in hand and we hope to jointly raise £5000 by Christmas with every penny pledged to be also spent locally via Inverness City Centre gift cards rather than online.
"This is a campaign that we can all get behind and a very special thank you to the Inverness Courier and Stagecoach Highland for kick-starting the fund. Keep an eye on our social media pages for further updates and many thanks also to everyone who may be able to donate.”
