Police have charged a man with road traffic offences following a "serious" crash on the A82 on Christmas Eve which resulted in seven people being taken to hospital.

Three of those patients – a woman and two children – were later transferred to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness and the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, respectively, for further treatment.

Officers confirmed on Wednesday that a man had been charged and a report had been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

However, they also added that they were still appealing for witnesses in connection with the two-car collision, which occurred at Invergloy at around 5pm on December 24.

Inspector Katy Duncan said: "Our enquiries into the crash are ongoing and we would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

"We are particularly keen to speak with the driver of a vehicle which was being overtaken at the time of the crash."

Anyone with information or dash-cam footage is urged to contact police on 101 or via the Police Scotland website and quote 'incident 2260 of December 24'.
