Police have appealed for witnesses after a "serious" two-car crash on the A82 left seven people in hospital.

The injured were all initially taken to Belford Hospital in Fort William following the crash at Invergloy at around 5pm on Christmas Eve.

But one woman was later transferred to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, and two children – aged 15 and six – were transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with what police described as "serious injuries".

Launching an appeal for witnesses and dash-cam footage, a police spokesman said: "Officers are particularly keen to speak with the driver of a vehicle which was being overtaken at the time of the crash.

"Anyone with information or dash-cam footage is urged to contact police on 101 or via the Police Scotland website and quote 'incident 2260 of December 24'."
