New research has revealed where the loneliest lovers live, with Inverness being crowned the most desperate-to-date city.

The findings follow an analysis of nationwide Google searches for dating-related terms such as dating apps, dating advice, and common queries.

The second and third cities most busting to find love are Hereford and Liverpool, according to the data.

In contrast, Newport was revealed as the city least interested in chasing a new romance.

The study was conducted by the No Deposit Bonus Codes Guide as they analysed nationwide search volumes using Google Keyword Planner.

These volumes were then scaled against the population of each city to determine which cities search for dating apps and advice the most.

On average, in the UK, the study shows that lonely hearts search for dating apps or advice 2,900 times per 100,000 residents.

It also revealed that those living in Inverness are most likely to be Googling ways to find dates, searching on average for dates almost 7,000 times per 100,000 residents; this was a 141% increase on the average UK resident looking to date.

Additionally, it was revealed that residents in Inverness were 987% more likely to search for dating sites than those living in the least desperate-to-date city – Newport.
