Fans of singer-songwriter Callum Beattie can look forward to a date with their idol in Inverness this summer.

Inverness Ice Centre has just announced that it will provide the venue for a gig by Callum on Saturday, June 3.

The Salamander Street singer performed at Belladrum last year and supported Amy Macdonald when she performed at the city's Northern Meeting Park in August.

Tickets for the Inverness Ice Centre date go on sale tonight with the event open to ages 12 and over.

Organisers have also announced Dylan Tierney and Callum MacPhail as support acts for the date.

Gordon Barron, chief executive of Inverness Ice Centre, told the Inverness Courier: "We are really looking forward to the event and bringing Callum back to Inverness.

"We have been working closely with Callum's manager to ensure that the event is a night to remember."

This gig is part of a series of events planned for the ice centre as it seeks to diversify in order to support running costs in the wake of rising energy prices.

Last week it announced ice facilities would be suspended between April 10 and July 1 to provide space for other events.
