Highland accent is ranked among sexiest in the UK

NEW research has ranked the Highland accent among the top 20 sexiest in the UK.
Big 7 Travel has listed the top 50 accents, with the Highlands in the 19th position, stating: “The melodic lilt of the Highlands accent is best heard from Caithness down to the Black Isle.”
A spokesman for Big 7 Travel said: “There’s very few other English-speaking countries with as many varieties of accents and language in such a small space.
“Following on from a sample survey of our 1.5 million social audience, we have the official ranking of the sexiest – and least sexy – accents in the UK.”
Essex was ranked the sexiest, with Northern Irish second and Glaswegian third.
Other notable accents were Queen’s English (4th), Mancunian (5th), Scouse (6th), Geordie (7th), Yorkshire (9th), Edinburgh (13th), Hebridean (23rd) and Brummie (50th).
