A heavy police presence has been reported at a block of flats in an Inverness neighbourhood.

Three police cars and a police van are at the scene by the River Ness.

An ambulance was also seen there.

The area outside the flats has been taped off and police officers are also present on the opposite side of the river.

A passer-by reported seeing a police dog going into one of the blocks of flats and there have been reports of police dogs in nearby streets earlier.

No further details are available but Police Scotland has been contacted.
