Emergency services still at A9 Dalwhinnie crash scene

Scottish Fire and Rescue Services are still on the scene after this evening's A9 road accident between Dalwhinnie and Etteridge.

Traffic Scotland has said the A9 is closed in both directions between Newtonmore and Etteridge.

A spokesperson confirmed three appliances had been sent to the scene after the alarm went up, from Aviemore, Kingussie and Newtonmore.

"One of those appliances has been recalled but two remain at the scene."

Traffic Scotland reported a serious accident had occurred just after 8pm.

The road is still closed in both directions.

Traffic Scotland state in the only available update: "The A9 Dalwhinnie to Kingussie is currently closed in both directions due to a road traffic incident.

"Road users are advised to use caution on approach and expect longer than normal travel times."
