A farm near Loch Ness is celebrating the end of summer by inviting people to come and enjoy its sunflower fields.

Girvan’s Corrimony Farm welcomed people last weekend, and will be doing the same thing again tomorrow (September 9), where people can parade through a sea of yellow, and enjoy an afternoon tea, which is being supplied by local bakers.

Owner Barbara Girvan said: “It’s been so lovely so far and we’ve had the weather on our side.

“We had a lot of people come last weekend, and we have quite a few coming tomorrow, but we haven’t sold all of our tickets.”

Weather dependent, Barbara may open on Monday or Tuesday next week (September 11 - 12), so that people can see the sunflowers before they reach the end of the season.

However, for those who are missing out on the sunflower fields, or want to experience what else Corrimony Farm has to offer, can go to their Pumpkin Picking weekends, which will run from October 13 - 28.

This has become a family favourite in recent years, with people being able to pick a vast array of types and sizes of pumpkins from the fields.

It’s been a busy year for the Girvan’s Corrimony Farm, as alongside looking after the livestock, they have also been sending out flowers across the country with Barbara’s business, Wild Acre.

Barbara said: “We were winding down with the flowers, but with the sunny weather this week we’ve continued on.

“Our subscription boxes have come to an end, but we can still supply flowers for occasions, and wedding flowers.

“We have a busy year for 2024 already, being booked up to supply flowers to weddings and events!”

The farm will also be providing wreath making workshops in December, where all the produce used to make the wreaths will come from the farm.

Barbara added: “Everything is sustainable, and home grown! We already have 40 percent of tickets sold so are looking forward to this annual activity with people.”
