Controversial plans for 101 new homes in Inverness are back before planners six weeks after being withdrawn.

RF More (Properties) Ltd has submitted a fresh application to Highland Council for permission in principle to build on land designated for housing at Wester Inshes.

The previous application for 44 flats, 27 houses and 30 self-build plots attracted 17 objections and one letter of support.

The new plan for up to 101 homes and associated infrastructure has so far drawn four detailed objections.

These raise concerns over flooding, loss of privacy for existing householders, a lack of supporting schools and infrastructure, and pressure on traffic access.

It is understood the previous application was withdrawn on technical grounds to allow a fresh application to be submitted.

Past objectors must resubmit their views if they wish to comment on the new application, due to be determined by April 16.
