A popular club in Nairn has celebrated its centenary with the launch of a commemorative book.

At a special dinner last week members of the Nairn Angling Association welcomed the new volume, titled Salmon Beneath the Alders.

The book, written by club members Alan McGowan, Les Stuart and Kevan MacKay, maps a record of the club’s history from 1923 to 2023 with both information and pictures about members and interesting stories from over the decades.

It includes the story of how the club was started as well as detailed maps, archive pictures and information on the best catches throughout the years.

A club spokesperson said the book captures “unforgettable memories”.

Copies are available at Pat Fraser’s Shop in the High Street.
