Police have confirmed that two men, aged 31 and 32, have been arrested and charged after an attempted murder and robbery which took place in the area of Baron Taylor Street and Lombard Street in Inverness yesterday.

The update follows an appeal for witnesses and information after the incident, which occurred in the early hours of Friday morning.

Following the attack, which took place at around 1.10am, the victim’s attackers were later seen in the Union Street area.

The victim was taken to hospital where police described his condition as “serious but stable”.

A statement from Police Scotland said: “Two men aged 31 and 32 have been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder and robbery which occurred in the Baron Taylor Street and Lombard Street area of Inverness, around 1.10am on Friday, May 17, 2024.

“They are due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday, May 20, 2024, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
