Youth standard bearers put through paces by Inverness branch of Royal British Legion Scotland (RBLS)
Cadets were put through their paces at a competition to discover the best young standard bearers in Inverness.
The annual youth standard bearer competition, organised by the Inverness Branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland (RBLS), tested the skills of three entrants from the RAF Air Cadets, two from the Sea Cadet Corp and one from the Army Cadet Force.

The winner was Able Cadet A. Barrie, of the Sea Cadet Corp, who was presented with a large quaich.
He was also presented with a small quaich after being judged the best dressed cadet.
RAF Air Cadet Cpl L Gausi was presented with the Jackie Connell Shield as the competition’s runner-up.
The winners will go forward to the RBLS Highland Area Youth Standard Bearing Competition in Nairn tomorrow, the winners of which will go forward to the National Youth Standard Bearing competition later in the year.
The competition took place in the Trinity Dalneigh church hall and was run by Capt (Retd) David Taylor, RBLS Standard Bearer trainer.
The judges were Jim Davidson, national RBLS standard bearer, Eric Mills, RBLS Highland area standard bearer and Joe Davidson.
Bart Lucas, chairman of the Inverness Branch of the RBLS, thanked 7SCOTS for its support in allowing the Army Reserve Centre in Gordonville Road, Inverness, to be used for running the training and practise sessions, before the competition.
