A POPULAR concert series in Nairn is set to kick off this year's programme with a renowned horn trio.

The Ben Goldscheider Horn Trio will take to the stage at the Nairn Community and Arts Centre on Saturday, January 27, at 7.30pm.

Comprising Ben Goldscheider on the horn, pianist Huw Watkins – a regular on BBC Radio 3 – and prizewinning violinist Benjamin Baker, the trio is set to perform classic repertoire including Mozart’s Horn Quintet in E flat major arranged for trio and Brahms Trio in E flat major as well as two solo piano works, by Mendelssohn and Brahms.

Goldscheider was a finalist in the 2016 BBC Young Musician competition, and a prize-winner at the 2019 YCAT International Auditions.

He has since given recitals at major concert halls across Europe and played as concerto soloist with many prestigious orchestras.

Tickets (£18 for adults and £3 for under 25) are available from the community centre and online at www.nairncc.co.uk.
