A9 Kessock Bridge ‘wrong way’ driving incident sparks dangerous driving charge and Police Scotland appeal for dashcam footage
Dashcam footage is being sought by police investigating dangerous driving on the Kessock Bridge last night.
Officers said they received “multiple calls” about a van driving into oncoming traffic on the wrong side of the A9 dual carriageway at around 6.50pm on Wednesday.
The van, which police described as a white MAN box van with grey side curtains, is also alleged to have purposefully reversed into a white Renault Clio. The driver of the Clio was not hurt.
Police attended and closed the road as a precaution before arresting and charging a 49-year-old man in connection with the incident. The man, who has not yet been named, is due to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court today (Thursday).
Officers investigating the incident have appealed for anyone with video or dashcam footage of the incident, or the vehicles in the run-up to it.
Sergeant Douglas Scott said: "We'd like to thank all the motorists that got in touch with us last night and informed us about the ongoing incident.
"Our enquiries are ongoing and we would be keen to review any dashcam footage that may have captured the white van between 6.40pm and 7.15pm on Wednesday evening."
