THE A82 has reopened following after an earlier crash north of Fort Augustus shut the route for four hours.

Emergency crews attended the scene at around 6.15am on Friday after a collision between a lorry and a van.

Three fire appliances from Fort Augustus, Foyers and Drumnadrochit attended the scene, but occupants of the vehicles had been released before their arrival.

It is not yet known if there were any injuries.

In an update shortly before 10.30am, Traffic Scotland said the route had now reopened to traffic, but added that temporary traffic lights were in operation and that drivers should expect "a slight build up" in traffic when using the route this morning.
