A82 closed north of Fort Augustus after crash involving lorry and van

THE A82 is closed in both directions following a crash between a lorry and a van near Fort Augustus.

Traffic Scotland has warned that the road is closed between Invermoriston and Fort Augustus, with vehicles diverted via the A887 and A87.

Three Scottish Fire and Rescue Service appliances from Fort Augustus, Foyers and Drumnadrochit were called to the scene to assist at around 6.15am.

The fire service said that all occupants of the vehicles had been released upon the crews' arrival and "were in the care of the ambulance service". There was no immediate word as to whether anyone was injured.

Police have warned motorists to expect delays and are advising drivers "to seek alternative routes".
