£77,000 drainage investigation works on A82 at Drumnadrochit set to start next week

Temporary traffic lights will be in place on the A82 in Drumnadrochit will be in place from next week to allow works for a drainage investigation.

Works are expected to last for ten days from Monday (February 19) between the Loch Ness Exhibition Centre and Temple Pier.

BEAR Scotland, who are carrying out the works, said the temporary traffic lights will be in place between 7am and 7pm.

Works are expected to finish on Friday, March 1, with no works on Saturday or Sunday.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s north west representative said: “The drainage investigation will help us identify the condition of the drainage assets and give an indication if further works are required to improve the drainage system.

“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these works. We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”

Temporary traffic lights will be in place to protect roadworkers and road users.

Residents and businesses will have access at all times and the footway will be in use throughout the project, with operatives on hand to guide pedestrians safely past the work area.

Access through the worksite for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
