People turned out in force over four evenings last week to litter pick in their local communities.

Inverness West councillors for Highland Council, Bill Boyd, Alex Graham and Ryan MacKintosh, thanked the many local people who joined them on the ‘Meet up and Clean-up’ community litter picking events which took place on Monday to Thursday last week.

Special thanks also went to members of Inverness Shinty Club’s youth teams who provided 29 helpers towards the cause, with many youth players also roping their parents into lending a hand for the worthy clean-up cause in their local area.

From 6-8pm each evening people of all ages came together to make sure their neighbourhoods were looking tidy as small actions made a collective difference to communities around Charleston Academy and Muirtown Primary as well as the Bught Stop and Torvean Avenue areas and around council headquarters at Glenurquhart Road.
