Residents in part of Inverness are being invited to participate in a mega four-day community litter-picking event.

Inverness West councillors Bill Boyd, Alex Graham and Ryan MacKintosh want local people to join them for the Meet up and Clean-up.

It takes place from Monday to Thursday.

A Highland Council spokesman said: "Each evening people of all ages are invited to volunteer and come together to make sure their local area is looking tidy.

"By taking small actions and joining together we can all make a difference to our local communities.

"Each litter pick will last for two hours from 6pm-8pm and litter-picking kits – waste bags, litter pickers, gloves – will be supplied."

Join in the clean-up:

Monday: meeting at Charleston Academy.

Tuesday: meeting at Muirtown Primary.

Wednesday: meeting at the Bught Stop, Torvean Avenue.

Thursday: meeting at Highland Council Headquarters, Glenurquhart Road.
