The head teacher role at Millburn Academy is being advertised with a salary of £100,812 on offer.

It comes after rector Johnny Croall tendered his resignation last week.

He had been with the Inverness secondary school for 12 years.

The council is advertising the full-time post as 35 hours per week, with applications from Gaelic speakers encouraged.

It stated in the advert: "The Highland Council understands that diversity fosters creativity and innovation. We are committed to equality of opportunity and being fair and inclusive. We welcome applications from people from all backgrounds, representative of the communities we serve and particularly encourage applications from candidates who are likely to be under-represented in our workforce.

"As a disability confident employer, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum essential criteria requirements for the post.

"The council has a comprehensive relocation package which may be available to the successful candidate."
