Q Is this your first time paying Belladrum, if not when did you play and what stage before?

A Robbie McNichol: This is our first year of playing Belladrum. After attending the festival as kids for so many years it feels so special to be playing one of the biggest stages on our Belladrum debut.

Forgetting The Future.
Forgetting The Future.

Q Where are you from and what will your journey to Belladrum be like (ie plane, train, automobile etc)?

A We are based two hours north of Inverness in a tiny town called Thurso, so we get to roam the east side of the NC500 on our way down!

Q What is your best general festival memory?

A My best festival memory would have to be recently when we played the Woodzstock festival, we got the chance to share the stage with Sandi Thom and Goldie Looking Chain and mingle with them while we were steaming! That was a great night

Q Any weird things happened to you at a festival?

A Probably witnessing mud wrestling at T in the Park, there were so many shirtless Scottish men rolling around in the dirt… it was class ahah!

Q What/ whose is the best performance you have ever witnessed at a festival? What was so good about it?

A The best performance I have witnessed at a festival would be when I saw Bob Marley's band The Wailers when I was around 12 years old at Belladrum. They were so tight and the sun was beaming down – it was the perfect reggae afternoon.

Q What's your most recent release – or do you have one coming up after Belladrum you can recommend people watch out for?

A Our most recent release is an energetic rock track called Small Town Syndrome.

Q If you have a video to show people, send the link, and introduce it for people?

Q What track is your secret festival weapon (if you want to reveal that!)?

A Our secret festival weapon would have to be Bluetooth, it’s just a big fat singalong ballad! It always gets the crowd going.

Q Who are you looking forward to seeing at Belladrum if you will get time to linger?

A Would love to catch Daytime TV, those guys are hard! And also the Fratellis because you can’t not watch the Fratellis when you're playing the same festival as them!

Q The theme of Belladrum this year is myths and legends – what mythical creature would you like to meet? Mermaid, unicorn, Nessie, selkie, wolfman, something a bit more Marvel/DC?

A Definitely a Nessie, he’s the hardest creature in the north! [He?!]

Q Tell people what stage, day and time you are on so they can come along and see you?

A We play the Hothouse Stage on Thursday at 3.15pm.
