Q First time playing Belladrum?

A First time at Belladrum for us. It’s especially nice for me, as being born and brought up in Inverness, but having lived away for so long, it does feel like a bit of a homecoming, which is great.

Q Where are you from and what will your journey to Belladrum be (plane, train or automobile)?

A I live in Edinburgh these days, but it’s a short journey to Belladrum for me as I’m playing a gig at the Market Bar in Inverness the night before. The rest of the band are all driving up from down south.

Q What is your best general festival memory?

A A beer festival… details are hazy.

Q Any weird stuff happened to you at a festival?

A Weird things happen at festivals all the time, that’s what makes them great.

Q What/whose is the best performance you have ever witnessed at a festival. What was so good about it?

A Neil Young. My answers to best gig questions are always, The Clash or Neil Young.

Q What is your most recent release?

A We should have an EP coming out soon, but as soon as Belladrum is over, we’ll be shifting our focus to working on our debut LP. These are such talented musicians I can’t wait to hear what they’re going to do.

Q If you have a video to show people, introduce it?

A We’re still right at the beginning of this particular musical journey but here’s a clip from our very first gig earlier this year playing at the March Into Pitlochry festival

Q What track is your secret festival weapon (if you want to reveal it, of course!)?

A I never saw myself being in a band that could fill a dancefloor, but when the mandolin and fiddle rip into About You Now, it’s hard to resist getting up on your feet and jigging.

Q Who are you looking forward to seeing at Belladrum if you get a chance to linger?

A There’s some great bands playing but I have a few friends playing too, so my priority is to I’m get along and see them if I can. I’m going to try and squeeze out every moment there I can… I’m really looking forward to it.

Q The theme of Belladrum this year is myths and legends – what mythical creature would you like to meet and who would inspire the best Boulder Fields song? Mermaid, unicorn, Nessie, selkie, wolfman, something a bit more Marvel/DC?

A I’m from Inverness… Nessie every time!

Q Tell people what stage, day tie you are on so they can come along and see you?

A We’re on a 11am on Friday, at the Trailer Trash Stage in Moose Hollow. Come along and say hello. We’ll be chuffed to see you there. [Also Market Bar, Inverness on thursday night!].
