DO YOU have a passion for singing, and are you in the age group between P4 and S6?

If you can answer ‘yes’ to both questions, Moray Youth Choir would like to hear from you.

The choir began its new session earlier this month at Greenwards Primary.

With junior (P4-6) and senior sections (P7 to S6), the choir caters for boys and girls of all ages.

Run by local music teacher Jane Ferguson, with the support of fellow music specialist Sheena Ledingham and accompanists Isobel Burnie and Helen Watson, as well as a number of adult volunteers, the choir has now been performing and raising money for local and national children’s charities for seven years.

The choir has a busy programme ahead, with a concert in aid of Clic Sargent on December 4 at Elgin Town Hall; a concert at St Giles Church on December 10, and a performance with the women’s choir, Cantare, on December 18, again at the town hall.

The choir has members from all over Moray, and practises from 7-8.15pm each Monday.

Registration for new and returning members will take place from 6.45pm on Monday.
