1 BLAS Festival returns to the north of Scotland this weekend, with events taking place across the whole region celebrating the rich culture of its Gaelic heritage.
Starting on Friday, Blas Festival will feature concerts and events happening in a variety of venues from Inverness to Skye to Caithness and beyond through until Saturday, November 30.

2 CELEBRATING cinema that explores stories, ideas and questions at the heart of positive social change, Take One Action Film Festival returns to Eden Court this weekend.
Opening on Friday night with Facing the Dragon and continuing until Sunday, the festival includes films that look at the contemporary challenges that civilisation faces – and the actions people are taking to meet them.

3 ELGIN Town Hall is offering up a tribute to one of pop music’s biggest names this weekend.
Pretty as Pink – coming to Elgin on Saturday night – features live performances of Pink’s biggest hits. What About Us, A Million Dreams, Just Give Me A Reason, Raise Your Glass and Beautiful Trauma all feature.

4 FORTY years on from the release of one of Pink Floyd’s most revered albums, MacFloyd are offering up another riff on The Wall live at the Ironworks.
The tribute band will offer up the best of that classic album, alongside other songs from The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here and more at the Ironworks on Saturday night.

5 OFFERING up an innovative mix of film, music and performance, The Flames by Tricky Hat presents a fresh look at how people age.
Coming to Lyth Arts Centre on Saturday, the performance company for people aged 50 plus will take inspiration from everyday life that challenges pre-conceived ideas of how older people think, and what they aspire to.

6 LIVELY Highland ceilidh band Tweed bring the party to Hootananny this weekend with their rambunctious mix of traditional and contemporary jams.
The trad trio come to the Inverness venue on Friday night for a late night jam, weaving together traditional ceilidh music with funk, ska beats and anything in between.

7 PRISCILLA Queen of the Desert continues its run at Eden Court, Inverness until Saturday, proving that life is anything but a drag in the north of Scotland.
