1 A GROUP known as “the best salsa group band in the Highlands” are set to bring a spicy evening of music to Cromarty this weekend.
Orquesta Latina del Norte come to the Black Isle village’s Stables on Saturday night, celebrating the 10th anniversary of their first ever performance (also, by coincidence, in Cromarty).

2 A DOUBLE bill of tribute talent has a double bill of gigs across the north this weekend.
Through the Decades, featuring Darren Page as Roy Orbison and Marc Robinson as Buddy Holly, comes to Nairn Community and Arts Centre on Saturday night before travelling north to Strathpeffer Pavilion on Sunday.

3 A NIGHT at the Tooth and Claw, Inverness hopes to pay tribute to the late Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison – and raise money for vital charities.
Friday night’s Remembering Scott will feature local artists Dr Wook, Sarah Gallagher and Ewan McConologue, among others.
Together they’ll raise money for the Scott Hutchison Foundation, Mikeysline and the Hive Project.

4 INDIE-pop’s Adam Ross (of Randolph’s Leap) finishes up his north of Scotland solo tour by bringing the band back together for a show in Findhorn.
After one final solo show this Friday at Lyth Arts Centre, Nairn-born Adam (above) will be playing a full-band Randolph’s Leap show at the Universal Hall.

5 A NEW rock and metal mini-fest is set to take place across two of Inverness’s venues this Saturday.
Girders takes place across the city’s Mad Hatters and Tooth and Claw, featuring 10 bands playing across the venues.
Zombie Militia, The Broken Ravens, This Machine, Catalysis and Thousand Mile Stare play Mad Hatters, while King Kobalt, Devil’s Queen, Below the Neck, Isolates and Devil Within play the Claw.

6 TWO open mics in Inverness this week offer creative types the chance to practise their crafts.
The Market Bar hosts its open mic on Sunday from 4pm, offering an open stage for anybody to perform – whether that’s for music, spoken word or comedy.
And then Wednesday night’s Teuchter’s Comedy Club open mic at La Tortilla from 8pm offers budding comics the chance to get on stage and have a go at stand-up.

7 A TRIBUTE to The Eagles are set to soar at Elgin Town Hall on Saturday night.
The band Hotel California returns to the venue by popular demand, offering up 100 minutes of classic tunes by the US rock legends.
