New Folk Stage for Bella

A New stage for Highland folk artistes has been announced for Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival (Beauly, Inverness-shire, August 5/6 2011). Thanks to sponsorship from the Climate Challenge Fund, Highland Environmental Networks (HEN) will be bringing the Free Range Folk Stage to Bella as part of their presence in the new Hen Run area at the festival

The Hen Run will be positioned in a new arena space in the Walled Garden at the festival. It will feature exhibitions, information and displays on an environmental theme by members of Highland Environmental Network as well as music

“We’re very excited to have a new folk stage dedicated to Highland folk artistes at the event,” said festival promoter Joe Gibbs. “We are also delighted to have HEN alongside us, helping us to put over environmentally aware messages to our audience

The Free Range Folk Stage features the following artists: Friday: Black Rock Ceilidh Band; Dorec-a-Belle; Last Summer Effect; Adrian Telfer; Corralach; Graham Bell; Ghillie Dhu Folk Band; Alice Bentley; Ally McLeod & Donald Forbes; Corey Symonds; Lilian Ross, Malina MacDonald & Rory Campbell; and Jamie Reid. Saturday: Ashleigh Mackay; The Maria Hall Band; RONA; Fiona McKenzie; Acoustic Reverb; Emily McKinnon; Waiting For Bruce; Sarah Jane Thomson; Malcolm Cumming; Graham Brown; and Megan Blyth.

Festival organisers have also announced that campervan and caravan tickets for the event have sold out. Weekend camping and Saturday camping tickets are still available but are going fast.

Twin Scots rock legends Texas and Deacon Blue are to headline the eighth staging of the festival.
