A FEELGOOD Christmas fundraiser returns to Eastgate next month as the Inverness Choral Society tune up for the return of their annual Carolthon.

The singers will perform six hours of continuous carol singing on Saturday, December 14 from 10.30am until 4.30pm.

Shoppers can see and hear the choir at the top of the escalators near Marks and Spencer, Eastgate Centre, Inverness, as Choral Society members sing in shifts throughout the day.

A larger group will perform excerpts from Handel’s popular Messiah and a different selection of Christmas songs, from 12.30 to 1.30pm.

This year the Choral Society has chosen Befrienders Highland as its partner charity and all proceeds will be shared between the two organisations.

Susan White, executive director of Befrienders Highland, said: “I’m thrilled the charity has been chosen this year and am very grateful for every penny raised”.

Befrienders Highland is a local charity with more than 25 years of experience in providing support to members of the Highland community with mental health issues, memory loss or who are unpaid adult carers.

Volunteers provide safe and confidential friendships which improve people’s quality of life, promote their recovery and reduce loneliness and isolation.
