An Inverness musician and comedian who now lives in Glasgow has organised a Highland homecoming gig tomorrow (Saturday August 6).

Eddy MacKenzie, who is 31, will be performing at Mad Hatters, which is above Hootananny in the Highland capital, from 8pm.

The BBC New Comedy Awards semi-finalist promises a headline set of musical comedy and he will be supported by local comedian Kieran Lochore.

The show is entitled Holidays, Dinosaurs, and MD2020 – Eddy MacKenzie writes songs about all the important things in life!

Casting his comedy lens over anything that takes his fancy, he says he delivers his tunes with a big grin and a bombastic stage presence – a vibrant combination of Jack Black and Brian Blessed.

Speaking ahead of the show he said: “It’s always a pleasure to perform back home.

“My first ‘real’ comedy show was in Inverness with Teuchter’s Comedy Club upstairs in La Tortilla, so it’s amazing to be back a few years later playing a headline show.

“After the Hootananny show, the rest of August will be spent in Edinburgh.”
