Get the girls round – this is the perfect Friday night in

Review by Imy Brighty-Potts

Growing up in the early Noughties, I was no stranger to Playstation 2 staple SingStar, and no karaoke night or singalong has been able to scratch the itch of missing that game in about 15 years. Alas, relief has finally come, in the form of this 31 track ABBA-fuelled musical wonderland. Despite the fact I struggled with the notes (my issue, certainly not the game’s), I had an absolute hoot playing this game. With enhanced graphics, a handheld mic and gorgeous sound quality – even from a very average TV – this game is a win for music fans, kids and those of us who like a glass of wine and a singalong alike. Put it on your Christmas list now, because ABBA fans everywhere will be flocking for one.

Anyone for a spooky adventure?

Review by: Louise Irwin

I love a lot about this game. The sound design and the look are spooky and atmospheric, the boss fights are well designed and challenging. The story is (after a bit of a slow start) engaging and quite moving. However, played on a Switch Lite at least, there are some irritating issues with the UI, where I found myself having to zoom in and move pixel by pixel to be allowed to interact with the object. There was also the adventure game classic of the puzzles needing to be solved a certain way – early on, I was surrounded by shards of glass I couldn’t pick up with my character sadly noting that “I could cut this tape with something sharp”. Overall though, a definite recommend.

Skip to the end: Spooky and challenging with some technical gripes.

Rating: 7/10
