WITH grandparents from Nairn, musician and indie record label boss Fionn Patrick, has also got links all over Scotland.

And that comes in handy for running Ignite Records, a job Fionn says is all about spinning plates!

With experience as a session musician, Fionn has also had his time in the sun, signed to a major label band that supported the likes of Westlife.

"It's a balancing act. You usually find when something exciting happens in one area, you drop a plate in the background.

"The Ignite label's role is to find emerging artists and give them a step up. We don't have a huge budget, but we like to feel it's a case of finding diamonds in the rough. And because of my music background, we look at things from the artists' point of view."

There are currently four bands on the books – and you can see three of them in Inverness tomorrow (Friday) at Mad Hatters – and Joy Of Taste.

"We've got Stations, Sonny Marvello and Cities And Skylines at Mad Hatters from 10pm with Stations on first.

"But first at Joy Of Taste on Church Street, we've got two of the bands – Stations and Sonny Marvello – doing an acoustic set from around 8ish," said Fionn.
