YOU can see what promises to be the spectacular special 50th Anniversary episode of Doctor Who in 3D on the big screen at Vue on Saturday, November 23.

The Day of the Doctor – simultaneously broadcast on BBC One – is a one-off 75-minute special starring current Doctor Matt Smith and Jenna Coleman, plus former Time Lord David Tennant, Billie Piper and John Hurt.

A Vue spokesperson said: “Doctor Who is a British TV institution, and we’re delighted to have the opportunity to screen this very special episode at the majority of Vue cinemas nationwide, so everyone can have the opportunity to enjoy the sci-fi action in 3D.

“We are encouraging people to dress up as their favourite character for the occasion.

“We expect this to be a very popular screening with Doctor Who fans, who will enjoy specially-shot footage in 3D, through state-of-the-art audio-visual technology. And we look forward to being part of the historic celebrations.”

Thousands of fans are expected to attend the screenings across the UK and many countries around the world.

Since 1963 Doctor Who has been one of the best-loved dramas, and is certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most successful sci-fi series ever. The show has received numerous awards across its 50 years and has seen huge commercial success with over 10 million DVDs and eight million action figures sold globally.

It is also the number one BBC show on iTunes in the UK. BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the UK broadcaster, distributes Doctor Who to over 200 territories globally.

The film will screen at Inverness Vue on Saturday at 7.30pm, 9.30pm and on Sunday at 12.45pm. To book tickets visit www.myvue.com.
