BESTSELLING author and comedian Adam Kay brings his stories from his time as a junior doctor to Inverness next week – after hitting the headlines at the weekend.

Adam, whose book This is Going to Hurt has sold more than a million copies in the UK alone, will be talking about the book, the stories and his life in his stand-up show of the same name at Eden Court on Wednesday and Thursday.

And he made waves last weekend after he sent every Conservative MP a copy of the book as a reminder of his belief that prospective leadership candidate Jeremy Hunt has “left the NHS in tatters”.

Each copy featured a note saying, “I realise you have some big decisions to make, so I thought you could do with some light reading.”

Dr Kay will be highlighting these issues and more as part of his live show, which has been seen by more than 100,000 people and has sold out the Hammersmith Apollo, two West End seasons and a nationwide tour already.

The book This is Going to Hurt won the National Book Awards Book of the Year by popular vote, has been translated into 33 languages and is being turned into a major BBC series.

Adam Kay’s This is Going to Hurt (Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor) comes to Eden Court on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Both performances begin at 7.30pm and there are limited seats available both nights. Go to www.adamkay.co.uk
