Space Van are looking forward to being part of the NC50 Music Fest, which will take place next month in a number of venues in Inverness city centre.

Organisers of the Highland capital’s newest music festival have revealed some of the acts who will be taking part.

The NC50 Music Fest will run next month at a number of venues over two days across Inverness.

Organiser Steve Robertson, from Hootananny, said they were hoping to have more than 50 bands performing – with the main day on Thursday, October 27, and fringe activities on Wednesday, October 26.

He said the list of acts was growing and so far they include: Rope Limit, The Whiskys; Chancers; Space Van; The Groove Bloods; The Vandal; Sherbit; Craig Robertson; Lucid Liars; Paul Maciver; Pat Dennis; Dylan Tierney; Felix Saunders; 100th Monkey; and Ramanan Ritual.

Mr Robertson said: “We are blown away by the excitement from the local community over the announcement of NC50 happening in the Inverness city centre.

“It’s amazing to see such a collection of fantastic acts taking part in the event and the public showing such great support already.”

Mark Savage, from Space Van, said: “It’s amazing to see something like this come together and being steered by the pubs and bars in Inverness.

“We had a great set at Belladrum Festival and are very much looking forward to playing NC50!”

Dylan Tierney added: “First of all I would like to say that I am happy to be taking part in this new and exciting festival, NC50. I think it’s great for Inverness to have something new and something fresh. I think Inverness certainly does need something like this. It’s always nice to be involved in new projects and hopefully this will be a successful couple of days for our city and our music scene.”

The Groove Bloods, which consists of two sets of brothers, started during Covid and plays a mix of obscure covers described as funky Americana.

They said: “We are all members of Inverness Shinty Club and hope to see some caman-wielding comrades see us play at [an] NC50 that looks absolutely fantastic.”
