Martin Woods is back at Ross County after signing a two-year deal.

ROSS County last night (Monday) completed the shock capture of midfielder Martin Woods from Shrewsbury Town - three months after he left the Highlands to join the English league One club.

It's a real boost for Staggies manager Jim McIntyre as he bolstered his already healthy looking options in the middle of the park, but the move will have surprised many as he'd featured in five of the Shrews' seven games this season.

Woods played a key role in helping County to beat the drop from the Scottish Premiership last season and he arrives on a two-year deal with the club fifth in the table after an impressive start to the 2015-16 campaign.

With the summer transfer window closing at 6pm tonight, County are on the hunt for a new keeper after Daniel Bachmann's loan deal with English Premier League side Stoke City was cancelled.

Meanwhile, striker Kyle MacLeod's loan deal at Scottish League Two club Elgin City has been extended until January.
