Highland Boxing Academy put on a knockout night of action in Inverness

Highland Boxing Academy’s home show last weekend saw 15 of the club’s boxers in action.

There were two all-HBA exhibition bouts, but 11 of the club’s athletes put their records on the line against travelling competitors.

Of those, there were six home wins and five defeats.

For head coach Liam Foy, there were several standout performances on the night.

“Adam Grant, who just won the Scottish Novice title, won by a second round stoppage,” he recounted.

“Logan Thomson, whose opponent in the final of the novices pulled out and missed the chance to box in the final, he made his debut and won. That was a great moment for him after that.

“Cole Fraser as well, who boxed at the novices but lost his second fight, he boxed the other night and won by second round stoppage as well.

“Those three talented lads coming through collectively – they weren’t the only wins on the night – but those three coming through the ranks stood out."
