Just a year after fearing she may never run again, Julie Wilson broke the British over 50 4 x 800m earlier this month – and now she’s going for the world record too.

She suffered an injury while training for the steeplechase on April 1 last year, causing extensive damage to her right knee.

So never mind going for records, in her own words she is lucky to be running at all.

"I’m kind of on borrowed time, my knee is not in very good shape. I’m waiting for another operation on it."
