This week Inverness Ice Centre has been hosting the eighth annual Highland Wheelchair Curling Triples competition.

Play on the ice got under way on Tuesday morning, with Jim Gault’s team from Elgin topping the leaderboard at the end of day one.

The standings only got closer though, and when the Inverness Courier went to print yesterday Northern Ice curler Stuart Pimblett from Newcastle was at the top of the table by one point, with everything still to play for in the final games.

Event organiser Mo Simpson was delighted with how the competition has run, and says the feedback she gets from competitors is always outstanding.

“Everybody says that they like coming to Inverness and playing here,” Simpson said.
