Iain Vigurs says Ross County midfielders have to help strikers

Playmaker Iain Vigurs reckons Ross County’s midfielders need to be on top form to help the club’s forwards keep finding the net.

Going into last night’s trip to face Motherwell in the Premiership, Billy Mckay had been leading the way for the Staggies with five goals in his previous four appearances.

Top scorer Ross Stewart was also ready to return to the fold at Fir Park after missing the beginning of the year through injury, with the likes of Vigurs in the middle of the park tasked with providing strikers with a good level of service.

The 31-year-old midfielder says the burden of scoring should not fall on just the attackers’ shoulders, because they can only put away chances if their teammates help create them.
