Manager Willie MacDonald praised his team for maintaining their composure after throwing away a two-goal lead before fighting back to lift the trophy.

He said: "It was a great game and I was proud to be part of it.

"I brought these kids through from primary one to juvenile shinty and they lifted the trophy.

"But Skye put up a tremndous fight and it could have gone either way."

MacDonald hopes Fort William's victory will inspire more young kids to take up the game.

"It is a big plus for Fort William as we have been in transition for a while and haven't won a trophy for a few years.

"If you can win trophies at youth level, it will generate more interest in the younger ones, more kids will be out in the park wanting to play shinty and want to win trophies.

"It is a big thing for Fort William to win the juvenile cup."
