Max Abernethy says claiming victory at the Nairn 10k is among one of the best achievements of his career so far.
The Fraserburgh athlete won the race for the first time, crossing the line in a time of 31 minutes and 51 seconds.
Despite hoping to go faster in the race, Abernethy was pleased with his time considering the conditions.
He said: "It is probably up there, a win is a win and I haven't won too many races, but I have come into a bit more form just now. But I was hoping for a bit quicker.
"It was quite tough as we ran into the wind for the first half and maybe pushed a bit hard in the five kilometres.
"I decided to push quite hard to make sure nobody worked off me into the wind, I didn't want to do the work for anyone else so it was a solo effort against the wind."
Abernethy is now preparing for Scottish 5k championships in May and is considering entering the Balmoral 5k beforehand.
