A hip problem kept Josh Meekings sidelined, while knee injuries ruled out both Richie Foran and Danny Devine. Ross Draper did not feature, but Carl Tremarco was available again for the hosts.

In their only home friendly of pre-season, Caley Thistle were looking to fine tune the slick passing game manager John Hughes wants to see his side play.

James Vincent headed an Aaron Doran cross wide, while Greg Tansey also saw his attemoted curler drift narrowly the wrong side of the post.

After a bright start, there was a lull in proceedings, although Inverness were enjoying the better of the possession without really threatening.

As half-time approached, Jamie Proctor had a goal disallowed for offside and then Nathan Pond saw his close range strike blocked away after Dean Brill tried to touch away a corner.

Inverness responded and after watching his shot well saved by visiting goalkeeper Chris Maxwell, Billy Mckay got himself on the scoresheet two minutes from the interval.

David Raven's near post cross found Caley Thistle's prolific striker rushing in and he got ahead of Ryan Cresswell to prod home.

The home side's lead, however, lasted just 11 minutes into the second half.

Steven Schumacher's free-kick found Cresswell rising highest and his flick dropped into the corner beyond a motionless Brill.

Having had to weather a bit of a storm as Fleetwood threatened from several set pieces,

Caley Thistle regained the lead with 61 minutes gone.Mckay's pass got Ryan Christie in down the right. His low cross was missed by Aaron Doran, but found Graeme Shinnie, who saw his shot come back off the post and rebound perfectly into the path of Vincent for a simple finish.

Fleetwood almost levelled for a second time when a slip by Tremarco allowed substitute Jamille Matt to steal in, but his close range flick struck the woodwork.

Marley Watkins sent a late effort from 20 yards just wide as Caley Thistle maintained their 100 per cent pre-season record.
