MANAGERLESS Caley Thistle have continued to reshape for next season by handing a new two-year contract to midfielder Iain Vigurs.

The 28-year-old former Motherwell and Ross County man, on his second spell at the Inverness club, has been dealt in by Kenny Cameron until the summer of 2018.

He joins other senior first-teamer players Aaron Doran, Lewis Horner, Alex Fisher, Owain Fon Williams and David Raven is signing up, despite John Hughes' replace yet to be made.

Captain Richie Foran is the hot favourite to take the job, perhaps alongside an experienced number two, but the club are working to secure as many of their squad for next season before the summer transfer window opens on June 9.

Vigurs said: "The squad is taking shape and when key players are all signing on, it’s always good to see that."

"I’m glad to have got my contract done and dusted. I thoroughly enjoyed getting back to playing last season and although we never got the top six that we wanted, we finished strong. We now need to look to kick on from that next season."

Caley Jags chairman Kenny Cameron commented: "Iain is another of the players we had offers out to before the end of the season and it is great to see so many key squad committing to the club for the longer term. It’s vital we get as many of the core squad re-signed as possible so that when the new manager comes in they have a good platform to build on."
